Amway is a scam, and here’s why: Amway charges the maximum possible amount for their products and pays out as little PV/BV bonus money as they can get away with, and CAN get away with this because they support the higher level IBOs (Independent Business Owners, formerly known as “Distributors”) ripping off their downline via the Amway Tool Scam (ATS). As a result, over 99% of IBOs operate at a net loss, while the top less than 1% Lying Cowardly “Kingpin” (LCK, defined below) IBOs make several TIMES more from their Amway Tool Scam (ATS) than from the Amway products, but lie about this fact by simply omitting it. This was made illegal in India in 2005 and the UK in 2008, (see below for more information), but our FTC is unable to pull their heads out of their “backsides” to stop it here.

Amway is a scam, just google "stop the Amway Tool Scam" for more information.

Well, you created your post in 2013, Jan. As of Sep 2014 (that's when I became, yes an Amway IBO), India HAS accepted and opened Amway market since May 1998 and still operating as of today, strong market.

UK, on the other hand, it opened in July 1973. There were was not a time where it made "illegal" based on your claim. You're information is bluntly speaking, wrong and you are completely misinformed. How do I know this, because here's the link for UK ( https://www.gbislink.com/MarketInformation/CompanyDetails.aspx?x=0&Countryid=040 ) and for India's ( https://www.gbislink.com/MarketInformation/CompanyDetails.aspx?x=0&Countryid=430 ).

I am sure you have heard of "franchising" business model. So if amway, melaluca, kyani, herbalife, and other direct selling MLM companies are scam, then franchising business is a scam as well since you have to pay high start up cost (depends on the business), YOU STILL HAVE TO LITERALLY PAY ROYALTIES TO THE ORIGINATOR despite of your income made. you all ready paid X amount of dollars or whatever to get a license and rights to promote their business, and you still have to pay them ANNUAL royalties and other required fees?

talk about scamming. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Anonymous didn't notice I didn't claim Amway supplies "tools." In fact, I clearly state the tools are provided by the upline on my blog.

I agree the tools are a legitimate training and development program, but the scam is the massive hidden profits made by the upline LCKs (look that term up on my blog).

While not explicitly required, the tools are in practical terms required, as the upline won't help those who don't buy the tools.

Amway, as far as I know, does not sell ANY non-product related books. However, the upline buys this and many other books in bulk for a fraction of the suggested retail price, then sells them to the downline for full retail price. Many of these books are self-published, making the fraction even smaller.

The tools are a scam because the upline makes several times more from the tools but then lies by omission that most of their lifestyle came from the tool sales, not from Amway. Because the LCKs need Amway as a "host" for their tools, the ATS is the AMWAY Tool Scam. Amway is fully aware of this, and is another reason why this is an AMWAY Tool Scam.

Anon should get his/her facts right, before s/he criticize something or someone. QED

FYI, Amway does not supply "tools".

These are marketed by many of the teams of IBOs affiliated with Amway.

They are a legitimate training and development programme offered by these teams AND THEY ARE NOT COMPULSORY.

Amway sell one or two books such as the Magic of Thinking Big (I think), BUT THAT'S IT.

All the other tools are sourced by the teams and obviously there are profits on marketing these books and other tools, just the same as Amazon makes a profit on the products it sells to its consumers BUT THERE IS A COST IN SOURCING OR PRODUCING THOSE TOOLS TOO, so how is this an AMWAY scam?

Please get your facts right, before you criticize something or someone.
